Hi there, I’m Sophia
Project manager. Parent. Expat based in Seattle, United States.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn’t in the grand plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, doubts, and a lot of learning by doing. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built WildGrainStudio
The majority of online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical insights drawn from everyday life in United States.
What this site does (and doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in United States
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in United States continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Seattle or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sophia
